Showcasing academic achievements

Here is a table to summarize examples of your academic achievements in the categories used to evaluate academic researchers and (future) professors.

The table (in French) aims to illustrate academic achievements in the different types of categories of academic work (teaching, research, service) and sub-categories. Whether you aim at a professorial position, you are evaluated on the tenure track or for promotion, similar criteria are often used (but not always spelled out).

Based on my understanding of the criteria and the literature, I grouped the criteria into four categories: teaching, research, service within the academy and service to the community as a large. For each category, I listed some sub-categories. You might have your own!

If the table contributes to demystify some of the unwritten rules of academia and makes your life easier and hopefully universities a bit more inclusive, all the better. You may copy-paste the table and/or adapt it for your own purposes (CC0 Public Domain Dedication).

If the table works for you, I always find it uplifting to receive good news! If you want to acknowledge the source, you are obviously free do so.
